J-Bird User's Guide (Version 0.5.2)

Launching J-Bird on Unix/Linux

J-Bird is a graphical program and requires X Windows to be running.

From a command prompt

• Launch a terminal window (i.e., xterm, rxvt, kterm, gterm, etc.).
• Navigate to the directory that contains J-Bird. The default is $HOME/J-Bird.
• Run the command
  
  ./J-Bird.sh

From shortcuts

The installer provides the option of creating KDE and GNOME shortcuts. Shortcuts have not been tested.
